Compassion in Motion – August 2025

Compassion in Motion #1: VA Surge – Serving Those Who Served

A heartfelt thank you to Rainie Campagna, Director of Community Support Services and our incredible community support team for leading the charge at the first-ever VA Surge event! In partnership with local veterans’ organizations and the Allentown Police and Fire Departments, Catholic Charities participated in the “Point In Time” count—a coordinated outreach effort across Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Whitehall to locate and assist homeless veterans.

Thanks to Lisa Geosits, Director of Operation and Community Engagement, Marie Brown, Allentown Community Café Kitchen Coordinator, and their tireless team of volunteers, Catholic Charities provided over 400 lunches to our neighbors in need. Allentown operations were hosted at our Catholic Charities service office, providing a central hub for care and coordination.

This was truly compassion in motion, and we couldn’t be prouder!

Compassion in Motion #2: Bundles of Joy – Growing with Our Families

What started as a local outreach in Lehigh County has now blossomed into a multi-county support program—Bundles of Joy is on the move! This growing initiative provides essential supplies like diapers, wipes, clothing, and more to parents with young children.

But the support doesn’t stop there. Families also benefit from wellness checks and access to additional wellness programs designed to strengthen the whole family unit. Thanks to your continued support, Bundles of Joy has expanded into Schuylkill County, bringing relief and resources to even more households.

Together, we’re ensuring that every child has a healthy start—and every parent feels supported on their journey.

Compassion in Motion #3: Berks County Office – A Warm Welcome

Join us in welcoming Anne Marie Ferguson, our new Community Support Services Manager in Berks County. The Berks County office is a hub of community partnerships and connections to better serve local residents.

Thank You!

Whether you’re donating, volunteering, or cheering us on from afar—thank you for being part of our Catholic Charities family. Together, we are sharing compassion, serving with heart, and spreading hope.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to put compassion in motion!
