Volunteer Positions

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve in 2024?

You can make a difference, provide HELP and create HOPE!

Volunteers are needed in these areas:

  • Soup Kitchens – Cook and serve lunch on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays in Allentown.  Serve dinners weekdays in Pottsville.
    **Cooks are particularly needed Mondays and Fridays 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. in Allentown.  ** Servers needed at both locations.  Shifts are 3-4 hours.
  • Food Pantry – Organize and prepare boxes with food donations – weekdays and some Saturdays – Allentown.
  • Ambassadors –  Organize drives for food, baby items, toiletries and school supplies in parishes and partner organizations – flexible schedule.
  • Development – Assist with many tasks to make fundraisers a success – flexible schedule from your home or at our Allentown office.
  • Drivers – Pick up and deliver food donations for the Soup Kitchens and Food Pantries – weekdays – Allentown and Pottsville.
  • Ombudsman – Answer and resolve issues older adults experience in the long-term care system. Visit www.catholiccharitiesad.org/volunteer in the Ombudsman Volunteer Opportunity section on the website for more information.
  • Photographer  – Take digital photos at agency events for social media, the website,  publications and fundraising appeals.
