Catholic Charities USA Visits Food and Nutrition Program in Schuylkill County

Catholic Charities Diocese of Allentown was honored to welcome Abbas Ahmad, Culinary Workforce Development & Kitchen Operation Manager, from Catholic Charities USA during his recent visit to Schuylkill County. As part of his tour, Abbas spent the day learning about our Food and Nutrition Rural Services, which bring hope and nourishment to families across the region.

One of the highlights of his visit was joining our team aboard the Community Café Food Truck in Tamaqua. There, Abbas saw firsthand the compassion and dedication that power our mission — serving meals, offering encouragement, and connecting with neighbors who count on Catholic Charities for support.

The visit was a reminder that our local work is part of a much larger national mission to reduce hunger, strengthen families, and bring the love of Christ to those most in need. We’re grateful to Catholic Charities USA for their continued partnership and support in helping us reach people in even the most rural corners of our Diocese.
