Compassion in Motion: Highlights from August 2026

Supporting Veterans at the Lansford Stand Down

Catholic Charities joined the VALOR Clinic Lansford Stand Down to support Veterans and community members in need of necessities, including clothing, and backpacks, while connecting them with supportive services. The Catholic Charities Community Café Food Truck provided a meal to the attendees and offered case management and connections to essential resources. Through events like the VALOR Clinic Stand Down, Catholic Charities helps provide not only practical assistance, but also dignity, compassion, and hope to Veterans and members of the community facing difficult circumstances.

Berks Community Café Food Truck starts its mission on Reading

The Berks County Catholic Charities Community Café Food Truck has begun its mission to feed individuals and families experiencing hunger in the community. The food truck provides free meals and a welcoming place for neighbors in need to receive nourishment and support. This ongoing effort reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to reaching communities where help is needed most and ensuring that no one has to face hunger alone.  With stops at St. Paul’s, St. Mary’s, and the Reading Riverfront, the food truck is making a significant impact in addressing hunger in our community.
