Compassion in Motion – March 2026
Veterans Inspire Young Students Through Storytelling
Through the Veterans Reading Brigade, Catholic Charities proudly supports moments of connection that bridge generations. Recently, Kevin McCloud, Catholic Charities SSVF Case Manager, had the opportunity to read to a kindergarten class at Roosevelt Elementary School—sharing stories, laughter, and a glimpse into the life and service of our nation’s veterans.
Beyond the classroom, this visit opened the door to meaningful conversations with school staff about Catholic Charities’ veteran services—expanding awareness and strengthening community ties. These small but powerful moments remind us that storytelling can inspire, educate, and connect us all.
