Staff Spotlight: Meet Jeremy Leidich, Director of Counseling Services at Catholic Charities
As the Director of Counseling Services, Jeremy Leidich, MSW, LSW leads a compassionate and highly qualified team dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families throughout the five counties of the Diocese of Allentown. With a background as a Licensed Social Worker and Mental Health Counselor, Jeremy brings extensive experience in counseling, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and helping individuals navigate life’s challenges.
“Being able to combine trauma informed counseling services within the healing confines of the Catholic Church is something I find to be the source of true healing” Jeremy shared.
Under Jeremy’s leadership, Catholic Charities Counseling Services team provides compassionate, professional care for children, adolescents, and adults. Services are available in both English and Spanish and include individual and family counseling, counseling for school-aged children, crisis support, and referrals to additional community resources. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, behavioral concerns, family challenges, or other life stressors, Jeremy and his team are ready to listen and provide the support needed to help individuals and families become who God created them to be.
Beyond its core services, Catholic Charities offers specialized programs designed to support individuals and families. One of these initiatives is a new Social-Emotional Learning Program designed to equip students in our Catholic elementary schools with the skills they need to understand and manage their emotions.
“One of the things we noticed in visiting our Diocesan elementary schools for one-on-one counseling, is that what we are teaching to individuals, can be taught to a whole classroom” Jeremy stated. Another important ministry, Project Rachel, provides compassionate counseling, healing retreats, and support for individuals and families impacted by abortion.
Here we believe no one should face difficult times alone. Through Jeremy’s leadership and the dedication of our Counseling Services team, we are proud to offer hope, healing, and compassionate care to those who need it most.
