Catholic Charities Provides Parenting Support and Hope in Shenandoah
Catholic Charities recently brought valuable resources and hope to families in Shenandoah during a special community event focused on supporting parents and children. The gathering created a welcoming environment where families were able to receive assistance, learn about important health resources, and connect with organizations dedicated to serving the community. Through compassion and collaboration, the event reflected Catholic Charities’ ongoing commitment to helping neighbors in need.
The event featured support from the Bundles of Joy Program of Catholic Charities, which distributed baby supplies to parents with young children, helping ease some of the everyday challenges many families face. Catholic Charities Community Café Food Truck provided free meals to attendees and the community. Families were able to enjoy warm, nutritious food while spending time together and learning about additional community services available to them.
Parents also benefited from an educational presentation on children’s dental health provided by Star Community Health – St. Luke’s University Health Network. The presentation offered helpful guidance on the importance of oral hygiene, preventative care, and healthy habits for children. Families had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable information that can contribute to their children’s long-term health and well-being.
In addition to the educational session, attendees were given the opportunity to schedule appointments for the Star Community Health dental van, expanding access to dental services for local families. By bringing together food assistance, health education, and family support services, the event demonstrated how community partnerships can make a meaningful difference in the lives of parents and children.
Catholic Charities continues to stand beside families in Shenandoah, offering hope, compassion, and support to help strengthen the community for the future.
