Bishop Blesses the New Altar at Our Lady of Charity Chapel
There are moments that beautifully remind us how faith and service come together, and the blessing of the new altar at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Allentown Lehigh/Northampton office, was one of those moments.
We were honored to welcome Bishop Schlert for this special blessing, dedicating the altar as a sacred place for prayer, reflection, and worship. This meaningful occasion celebrates not only a beautiful addition to our chapel but also the faith that inspires our mission to serve our neighbors with compassion and love.
What makes this altar especially meaningful is that it was lovingly handcrafted by our dedicated volunteer, Justin. His generosity, craftsmanship, and willingness to share his gifts are a wonderful reflection of the spirit of service that lives within our Catholic Charities family.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this day possible and to all who continue to support our ministry. May this new altar be a place where staff, volunteers, clients, and visitors find peace, hope, and strength as we continue our shared mission of bringing Christ’s love to those in need.

Pennsylvania Catholic Conference – Social Concerns Conference
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Allentown, was honored to have members of our leadership team participate in the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference Social Concerns Meeting in Harrisburg.
The gathering brought together Catholic leaders from Dioceses across the Commonwealth as well as representatives from CPS, CCUSA and USAB; to discuss the pressing needs of our communities, share best practices, and strengthen our collective commitment to serving our neighbors with compassion and dignity. Through collaboration and dialogue, participants explored ways to address important social issues like anti-trafficking, food insecurity, poverty, and immigration while advancing the Church’s mission of caring for those most in need.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside our colleagues, build meaningful partnerships, and bring new ideas back to our ministry. Together, we continue to answer Christ’s call to serve, advocate, and bring hope to individuals and families throughout our communities.
Ombudsman – PEER Legislative Letter Signing
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Allentown, was proud to participate in the Ombudsman–PEER Legislative Letter Signing, joining advocates from across Pennsylvania in support of older adults and individuals receiving long-term care services.
This collaborative effort highlights the importance of protecting the rights, dignity, and well-being of some of our most vulnerable neighbors. By working together and advocating meaningful policies, we help ensure that every individual receives the respect, care, and support they deserve.
We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community partners and remain committed to advocating for those whose voices need to be heard.
