Parishes Across the Diocese Answered the Call: The Manger Mission in Action
During the Advent season, parishes throughout the Diocese of Allentown came together in a beautiful expression of faith in action through the Manger Mission. Rooted in the humble love of the Nativity, this initiative invited the faithful to support vulnerable mothers and young children, and families served through Catholic Charities’ Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program—and parish communities responded with remarkable generosity.
Because of the collective efforts of so many parishes, families received essential items that brought comfort, stability, and dignity during a time of great need. Diapers, clothing, baby supplies, and gift cards helped ease daily burdens for parents facing uncertainty, while offering something just as important: reassurance that they were not alone.
What made the Manger Mission especially meaningful was the spirit in which it was embraced. Parishes shared the message, displayed ornaments, organized collections, and encouraged participation throughout Advent, transforming churches across the Diocese into visible signs of Christ’s love. Together, these small acts of kindness became a powerful witness to the Gospel.
As we reflect on the Christmas season, the impact of the Manger Mission continues to be felt. Because of the generosity of parishioners across the Diocese, children were welcomed with dignity, mothers were strengthened with support, and hope was renewed for families navigating challenging circumstances.
Thank you to every parish and every donor who made the Manger Mission possible. Your faith-filled generosity continues to change lives—one family, one child, one act of love at a time.
