United Way Day of Caring: Catholic Charities Teams Up with Employees from Heidelberg Materials

Posted October 18, 2023 in News

For the past five years, companies have partnered with Catholic Charities and donated their muscle power, talent, and service through the United Way Day of Caring. The 2023 annual event was held on September 14th. Thirteen employees from Heidelberg Materials, formerly Lehigh- Hanson, worked at the Ecumenical Kitchen. This year’s project was called Souper Clean Up! Employees helped restock, reorganize and inventory pantry and kitchen shelves.

Team Captain, Angela Shafer organized her team. They enjoyed the day and learned about the many ways Catholic Charities helps meet the needs of those in the community. “We could not have done this project so quickly without the dedicated volunteers from Heidelberg Materials,” shared Bob Olney, Catholic Charities Community Outreach Administrator.
